Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary
Every parrot has a story. You’ll learn all about our rainbow-colored rescues in Kona’s only parrot sanctuary. We’ll start with our mission: to give every displaced parrot a nutritious diet, large space to fly, and a safe place to interact with other parrots (and people). Next, we'll take a walk around the sanctuary, where you can get to know the range of personalities of cockatoos, lovebirds, macaws, and more species. Throughout the tour, you will have many photo opportunities, especially with our well-trained parrots. Other things to note: Wear casual clothes, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and bring a camera. Parrots in Paradise Sanctuary is also home to two rescue dogs, two Holstein cows and two sulcata tortoise. While we like to keep our group sizes small to enhance a personal experience, we are open to hosting larger family/friend groups with more than six individuals.
Cow Cuddle Therapy
Our pasture is located in Hl Pepekeeo, about 20 minutes from Hilo. Our Cow Cuddle Therapy starts with a basic safety tutorial, and then we enter the paddock to meet the cows. After a brief introduction we will then: -Pet cows -Hug cows -Lay Down and Cuddle Cows! -Milk the cows -Learn all about cows, their milk, and how they benefit the garden and the environment! (Note: we are a sanctuary for cows we never sell or kill any bovines. We do milk cows, but only the excess milk the calves cant drink. We call this cruelty-free dairy! In the past we have had vegan guests that loved the experience, but also have had upset vegan guests, so this is just a full disclosure!)
CHOCOLATE, VANILLA & COFFEE FARM TOUR
Aloha and Welcome as we gather around the information table at Sharkey's 100-year old farmhouse in the historic plantation village of Papaikou. Sample our freshly brewed 100% Hawaiian coffee or cacao tea, grown right here on the farm. From there we begin an easy walk through our orchards where you'll learn about Hawaiian coffee growth and production. Interwoven the coffee are rows of cacao trees. Depending on the time of year, you can usually see tiny flowers and large, multi-colored pods hanging from trunks and branches. Long, heavy vanilla vines grow up the cacao trees, nature's perfect trellis! We'll show you how each vanilla orchid is delicately hand-pollinated to produce long "hands" of vanilla beans. We'll then proceed to the "Slab" where the pods are 'cracked' before the fermentation process. Next we move into the greenhouse where flats of newly planted seedlings just beginning their journey grow alongside large screens filled with coffee and cacao beans slowly drying to perfection. Finally we'll move into our certified Chocolate Kitchen where the Magic happens! Who wants a taste? Free samples! Exclusive Hike/UTV to Hualālai Craters
An exclusive (5 person max) cultural experience that includes access via UTV then a moderate hike with Kimo, your Native Hawaiian host. Experience Hualālai mountain craters as few ever have! High above Kona, hidden in the clouds, lies this unique place. Come journey through craters, drylands forest, and historic lava flows amongst native birds and plants. This is not a tour, it's a cultural educational experience in this Sacred Place on private lands not open to the public. You will have the opportunity to support the reforestation of Hualalai back by planting a Native Hawaiian tree. An experience to be cherished forever. In addition, 100% of proceeds go towards supporting the non-profit that supports this area. Other things to note Consider your health and safety. This is a 90 minute hike at a high elevation on uneven, rocky ground. Craters have high cliffs and children must be monitored at all times.
Gong Meditation, start to relax for a dream vacation
The best way to start your Hawaiian vacation! Relaxed, joyful, calm, vibrant, peaceful, radiant... are some of the feelings expressed at the end. An overwhelming majority of the ,000 people who had attended my gong bath loved it! Many have reported incredible positive changes in their physical body and releases from their emotional bein. Gong Bath is Gong Meditation or Sonic Massage. I will play two gongs of 40" and some smaller gongs, plus other sound instruments for an hour, while you sit back or lie down to relax and focus on the gongs' living, grounding tone. You'll easily get to the state of harmony, meditation, relaxation, and peace. At the end, I will invite the group to ask questions and share their experiences. It is a "bath" because the gong will cleanse you by releasing emotions that no longer serve you. Please plan to arrive on time a spend an hour and a half. Alice Tobin is a Certified Practitioner and Teacher of The Eden Method-holistic medicine, Sound Healer, and Reiki Master. A private Gong Bath is available by appointment Other things to note: Need car to this site. I recommend lying or sitting on the floor to soak up the gong's vibration and will provide floor mats. You are welcome to bring your own if you have specific need. I also have a recliner with two seats if you rather sit. I have a friendly cat, Om.

You will participate in a Ho'oponopono Bowl of Light sunset ceremony. Ho'oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of setting things right. Ho'o = to make. Pono = good/right. We will prepare for the ceremony with an opening chant to bless the land and deepen our connection to it. Then I will teach you how to make your own sacred ki leaf lei for your wrist or ankle. I will share cultural insights and practices as we prepare for the Bowl of Light Ceremony by learning the 4 powerful healing statements of Ho'oponopono. I will also teach you a sacred Aloha chant. At sunset, you will be ready for your personal Bowl of Light Ceremony! You can practice this any time or at any sunset for the rest of your life. Your bowl and lei will be your reminders to live in the peace of this practice. Your ki leaf lei will dry as a keepsake. You may also choose to make another lei to give as a sacred offering when you leave the island. I look forward to celebrating this special ceremony with you on your Hawaiian holiday. Lava Field Hike to Private Sea Arch
We will meet at a tucked away, unmarked trailhead to begin our adventure along one of the prettiest coasts on island. We go through a lava field covering flows from 3 different eruptions, see various plants endemic to the island and end up close and personal at a private sea arch. Most sea arches are only visible from a boat and the only other one that you can see from land here, is from quite a distance. You will not find this location on a map or in a book. Many residents don't even know about this hidden gem, we will likely be the only ones there! The hike is about 3 miles roundtrip. We end the hike with a refreshing coconut to quench your thirst which can be cut open after to snack on! This is not a particularly strenuous hike, however it is in an open field where the sun can be intense. Plan accordingly with clothing, hats, water, reef safe sunscreen etc. The ground is mostly all a’a lava, so it is sharp and raw. There are no concrete paths or clear-cut trails. Proper shoes should be worn and participants should be up for moderate strenuous activity. I provide an extreme snorkel tour, a sunset hot spring tour and surf lessons. Please contact me for information on any of those or to schedule a tour on a date that is not listed.
