Ang gagawin mo

I will pick you up at your accommodation in Panama City or meeting point if desired and head to the Chagres National Park.
Once at the port by the Chagres River, the friendly Embera villagers will take us in a traditional boat by this river, the main source of water for the Panama Canal.
We will leave the boat at one shore of the river where we will the hike through a trail in real jungle, this is walking over dirt and/or mud crossing a creek several times to a hidden and pristine waterfall where we will swim in shallow and crystal clear water, then we will hike by the same trail back to the boat and head to the village where you will be welcomed by the Embera community. There, we will have fruits and lunch while the nocó (chief) share with us about their way of life inside a traditional huts without walls to allow air circulation. This time is complemented by a performance of their traditional music and dance.
Finally, we will go back to the port and then rest in the car while you enjoy the way back to your accomodation in Panama City.
Something to note:
The trail is in the jungle (as is) so this experience might be challenging o not suitable for people with reduced mobility however I had people with knee surgeries completing the hike so we can do it together!

This experience by far was our favorite visiting Panama for the first time! It was absolutely amazing to venture out to the rainforest, have an easy hike but challenging at times throughout the jungle/water, then hang out at a gorgeous waterfall and take amazing lifelong pictures. Our canoe boat ride in between with the tribal people was also beautiful and so peaceful down the river. We were happily greeted by the entire tribe with music, song, dance and the BEST home cooked fresh Tilapia, tostones, and tropical fruit. We loved hearing and meeting the chef, heads of the tribe and hearing about their every day life in great detail with easy translation from our guides to understand everything from their native tongue. We had the privilege of touring their tiki huts and village, then BEAUTIFUL shopping from all handmade items they make throughout the year. Their dances, instruments and songs were a delight to hear and we loved joining them for a dance too! Our host Cesar was FANTASTIC and the perfect guide :) We are so grateful he has this relationship with the tribe to allow guests into their land and home. Once in a lifetime experience!!!

I really enjoyed this trip. The trek is a real trek. You walk through a river, scramble over rocks and by the time you reach the waterfall you are ready for a swim! Don’t skip breakfast! Our group was super fun and everyone was adventurous. The food and presentation at the Embera village was also very nice. Highly recommend.

this was one of the best things on our trip. the logistics are so easy. hotel or Airbnb pick up and getting from activity to activity was seamless. Cesar was a great tour guide. the embera were so friendly and happy to share their culture. good simple lunch and delicious fruit. some interesting arts and crafts talks. not too big of a group - 8 of us in group total. beautiful scenery and boat ride. SNEAKERS ARE NOT ADVISED. there are slippery rocks to hike on and fyi I am 6ft3 and waded in water up to my waist. it was fun. my advice is aqua shoes, swim shorts and a tank. it all dries off no need for a change of clothes unless you are precious :) oh and towel.
